Engineering Young Entrepreneurs Scheme is a training competition for postgraduate students and post-doctoral researchers to present a business plan for an realistic but fictitious start-up company to a group of shrewd investors and industry experts. The programme covers all aspects of the commercialisation of new product and service development from discovery, to the first sales. Great learning for budding entrepreneurs and researchers who want to gain extra employability skills and stand out from the crowd at interview!

Participants learn the techniques of how to go about planning a new business venture, meet local entrepreneurs and business leaders who have done it for real and have a lot of fun at the same time! There are also over £3000 worth of cash prizes to be won.

The programme is free to enter for participants*, runs over three days and includes three nights full board hotel accommodation. We host a briefing session prior to the commencement of the programme and the top teams from each heat go head to head in a one-day Grand Final at the Birmingham Science Park Aston
